Lead is a heavy metal that can be found naturally occurring in the earth. Although lead is not commonly used in paints anymore, there are other commonly used ways to be exposed. To help educate and prevent poisoning, Van Wert County General Health District will be hosting a coloring contest for anyone under 18. There are 3 different age groups, and a winner will be picked from each age group! Coloring sheets will be handed out at the Apple Festival and the Fair, but can also be picked up from the Van Wert County Health Department. Any contestant paperwork needs to be turned in by Halloween (Oct 31), and winners will be announced on November 23rd. Download contest materials here.
